PROJECT: St Giles, Royal Mile, Edinburgh.

LOCATION: 375 High Street, Edinburgh

CLIENT: Station Properties Ltd.

STATUS: Completed on site 2006

DESCRIPTION: Refurbishment of listed Old Town tenement for retail and residential use.

Originally used as offices for the City of Edinburgh Council, this five storey Category A listed property lies within the Old Town Conservation Area and the World Heritage Site.

Gilberts gained planning consent for its conversion into 12 flats to the upper floors, and a shop unit on the ground floor. The development included a new-build addition at the north side of the building, with a three storey stone-built extension overlooking Princes Street Gardens and the Scott Monument beyond.  The flats in the main tenement also have spectacular views along the Royal Mile and across to St Giles Cathedral.
