Douglas Thomson

Director/Architect

Douglas joined Gilberts in 1997 from a background of working on commercial projects to take over as project architect on the Apex Hotel.

Since becoming a director of Gilberts in 2000, Douglas has undertaken numerous residential projects ranging from individual private commissions to large scale developments. He has also been responsible for the design and delivery of care home and hotel projects.

His recent work has focussed on expanding Gilberts workload in Shetland where we have undertaken several commissions since winning a design competition in 2007 for a development of the Hjaltland Housing Association.
